Caroline Leaf was born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1963 and grew up in Pretoria. She was educated at Glen High and completed her B.Sc. Logopaedics with honors during 1985 at UCT.
She initially worked as a Speech Therapist and Education Advisor for the now defunct TED in Johannesburg and further worked for the New Hope School (for learning disabled and cerebral palsied children) in Pretoria.
She started a Private Practice in Pretoria during January 1987, which later transferred to Johannesburg. In 1990, she completed her Masters in one year with distinction/Cum laude and academic honours. She then decided in early 1996 to devote herself full time to the completion of her Ph.D., which she had started in 1995. In March 1997, she completed her Ph.D. with distinction/ Cum Laude. Assessor and Moderator Amongst the milestones in her career were:
Development of a learning system (the MMA®) using findings from her Master’s and Doctorate, original research and proven methods from various sources.

The MMA® course has been presented to more than 80,000 pupils and adults (educators and corporate) originally under the name of Mind Dynamics and currently runs under the name of The Switch on your Brain Organisation (PTY) Ltd in South Africa and Switch on your Brain USA in the United States Of America.

She has been associated with 28% of private and Government schools in South Africa such as Dainfern College, Aurora College, Brescia House, Rodean, St Stithians, Whips, Radford House, Delta Park, School of Achievement, Bellavista, Protea, Pridwin, Krugersdorp High, Sunnyside, Redhill, Greenside, Cliffview Primary, Kingsmead, King David Jeppe,Summit College, Marist Brothers and most government schools in Johannesburg/ Pretoria area.
Caroline has also done extensive work in underprivileged schools. Her organisation was instrumental in influencing the Grade 12 pass rate to move from 20% to 80% in 1000’s of learners in 2002 in the Gauteng region, Soth Africa.
Caroline is a guest lecturer at Wits, University of Pretoria, University of Cape Town, University of Western Cape Annual Education Conference, SASHLA, Rotary Foundation.
She does extensive keynote speaker engagement for many different organisations such as: The International Business Woman’s association, Rotary, Excellife, Inspirational women, Finley’s. PSA, as well as Seminars and Workshops nation-wide and Internationally.
Her corporate associations include: Atomic Energy Corporation, Standard Bank, First National Bank, Price Forbes, ABSA bank, Datatech, Executive Woman’s Club, National Association of Women Business Owners, Wits Business School, Paracon Project Management, Anna Starcke & Associates, Liberty, Association of Chartered Secretaries, Project Literacy, Avroy Shlain, ENF, Discovery Health and several small private companies.
Caroline has been interviewed by and written extensively for the Independent and Times Media Newspaper Associations.
She writes articles for various publications. She has been interviewed in both national and International magazines and on radio including Fair lady, Leef, 702 and radio Islam (which reaches up to a million listeners), YFM, Metro FM, Dallas live. She has also been interviewed on Sabc Africa and Krux and Carte Blanche, ETV, Dstv, Rhema TV.
She has been interviewed on International TV shows such as Life Today, with James and Betty Robison, Enjoying Everyday Life with Joyce Meyer, Marilyn Hickey, Canadian TV , TBN, Peter Pretorius from JAM (Jesus Alive Ministries).
She wrote a weekly column for Learning Channel Campus (Matric Matters) and Readrite.
Caroline is a service provider for the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) and Eastern Cape Education Department and assists with the Grade 12 Intervention and Learning Skills support across all grades.
Carolne is a prolofic writer: She published a book/video/booklet series in 1999 called Switch On Your Brain.
She then released Switch on your Brain through Tafelberg publishers in South Africa at all leading bookstores and has reached the bestsellers list. This book was taken to the International book fare in Europe in 2005.
She has written a contributing chapter to the book Executive brain-based education.
She has written The Gift Within with Pastor Ray Mcauley, which was released in February 2006. Her book: Who Switched off my Brain: Toxic thoughts, emotions and bodies in SA and the USA in July 2007. The book was well received with over 200,000 copies in print.
She is releasing the revised edition plus bonus material of Who Switched off my Brain? Toxic thoughts and emotions in October 2009.
She will be releasing her new book The Gift in You. Discover new life through gifts hidden in your mind in December 2009
She released a new learning product – DVD and manual called Brain time in 2007 in South Africa.
She released an updated version and new DVD called Switch on your Brain with the 5 step Learning process based on her doctoral research and clinical and educational experience in December 2008 in both the USA and South Africa.
She did a weekly TV show called Brain time on SABC 1 teaching how to learn based on her scientific learning system.
She released her series of DVD’s of her seminar teachings on Toxic thinking and the effect on the body in 2007.
Caroline was one of the nominees on the short list for the Business Woman of the year award in Education 2002.
She has been chosen as one of 55 women in SA in the published book
Inspirational women in the workplace for which she wrote a contributing chapter.
Caroline is also a frequent guest-speaker at conferences- both internationally and nationally. She also teaches in churches around the world on the brain and its link to the bible.
Caroline was selected as finalist in the 2008 Shoprite/Checkers Business woman of the year Award in South Africa in the category of Education.
Caroline is the Owner of the “Switch on your Brain Organisation”(PTY)ltd in South Africa and is the founder and partner in “Switch on Your Brain USA” (LLC).
Caroline currently resides in the state of Texas in the United States.
Caroline’s passion and interests lie in the science of thought and in helping people to think, understand and use their brain properly and live healthier detoxed lives. She also has an interest in the improvement of education and learning worldwide.
Furthermore, as a born again Christian, she has a desire to assist people around the globe to recognise their gifting and to reach their God given potential.
